Ava's 2 year old pictures

My sister took some pictures this weekend for Ava's 2 year old photos. She of course would not look at the camera much, but Tesa still got some good shots. Here are just a few of the pictures. Enjoy.

Ava's new dress

This is Ava's new "pillowcase dress" I made her. It's not out of a pillowcase, cause I already had fabric I needed to use. It's a little big on her. I had to pull the ribbons tighter, so it's a little high on her neck. I'm such an expert sewer, that I thought the pattern didn't look big enough in the arm holes, so I made them bigger. I think the next time I'll follow the original pattern! Not bad for a beginner though.
We continue to potty train. Ava had one accident in a week. Not including nap times and bedtime. She still wears a diaper when she's sleeping. Except for today, she refused to put one on for nap time, so I'm sure it will be a nice mess when I go in to her room. Over all though, she's doing pretty good. We leave the house now with big girl panties on, no more pull-ups. And today she went to church for the first time with big girl panties on. I of course worried the whole time while sitting in church that she wouldn't tell her teacher that she needed to go. But when I went and got her, she was still dry. Yea, Ava!!

birth order predictor

You Are Likely a Third Born

At your darkest moments, you feel vulnerable.

At work and school, you do best when you're comparing things.

When you love someone, you tend to like to please them.

In friendship, you are loyal to one person.

Your ideal careers are: sales, police officer, newspaper reporter, inventor, poet, and animal trainer.

You will leave your mark on the world with inventions, poetry, and inspiration.

So my friend Melissa had a birth order predictor on her blog, so I thought i would look it up online and take the quiz. It was so right. You should try it, see if you get the right answer. I think I agree with everything, except for the mark I'll leave on the world. Invention, poetry, or inspiration. I don't think I'll be inventing anything or writing poetry ( I like to read poetry, not so good at writing it. So I hope I'll inspire some of you before I pass :)

What happens when your 2 year old won't take a nap

The past week has been a battle with naps. It's not that Ava screams when I put her down, it's that she lays in her bed for an hour and a half talking before finally going to sleep. Therefore she sleeps later, which means she doesn't fall asleep at night time until 9:30-10:00. For those of you who know me well, you know this is not okay with me!! I'm hoping its just a phase, if not, I'm afraid naps are done with. Oh, I really hope its just a phase.
I took this picture yesterday. She laid in bed for an hour and 15 minutes, so I went in there to see if there was a problem. She said she had to go to the bathroom. Which she didn't. So I just said forget it, there was going to be no nap that day. It was already 2:15. So we went swimming. Well that wore her out good. Half way through dinner she fell asleep. I let her sleep while I finished dinner. I thought I might as well eat in peace :) I had to take her out and tickle her to wake her up. She finally did after about a 10 minute nap. She then finished her chicken and corn on the cob! She cracks me up.

Say cheese!!

I asked Ava if she could say cheese while we took this picture. This is what she did. The timer went off at the perfect time! She is so funny.

Funny story

I know, I know, I need to do better updating our blog. I haven't taken any pictures for so long. I'll try to do that this week. We really haven't been doing much exciting. Still potty training, still going ok. Some days are great and some days (like today) are not so great. I actually have a funny story to tell. I think it was funny, kind of gross, but o'well. I've told some of you the story already, but I just had to put it on the blog.
So Ava was pooping in the potty the other day. She just happened to have 2 poops in there. One was little and the other was bigger. She got done and was getting ready to flush it, when she looked in the toilet at the bigger of the poops and said, "Look, it's her mommy!" I had to laugh.
