Christmas morning

Hope everyone had a great Christmas, we sure did. Ava got SO many new toys. Her big toy was Spike the dinosaur. She has been saying for over a month that she wanted Santa to bring him to her. Well, he did. I'll try to put the video of her opening him up. It is so funny. She's still a little afraid of him when he's turned on, hopefully she get over that, because Santa spent a lot of money on him!!
I don't have many pictures to put on the blog, because for some reason my camera was on a different setting and I didn't know about it. So from Christmas Eve on, all my pictures are very blurry. They didn't look that way on my camera, but when I got home and looked at them all on the computer I was sick. Pretty disappointing and sickening :(

Making gingerbread houses

Yesterday, Kate and Ava made gingerbread houses. They had lots of fun doing it by themselves. I helped Ava put some icing on her roof and tried to help her (maybe I should say, she tried to help me) make a door and window. Then she decorated it. Now, for those of you who know me well, making gingerbread houses is my favorite thing to do at Christmas. And I spend forever doing one, just to make it perfect looking. I have to admit, it was hard not to tell her to put certain candy somewhere and to make it look Tara "perfect"! But, in the end I think it turned out adorable, and it is perfect, Ava "perfect".
I may just have to do two in the future, so i can get my fix too:)

Ava and I made gingerbread cookies for the first time the other day. I've never been a big fan of them, but this recipe was pretty good.
We have been having lots of fun doing Christmas projects. Next week we are going to do my favorite, Gingerbread houses!
Today we are headed to go see Santa. I'm hoping I can get a good picture of Ava and him, but I'm not holding my breath! She says she is going to sit on his lap so she can tell him she wants a green dinosaur that stomps.

Ava's last night in her baby bed

Sunday night was Ava's last night in her baby bed. I brought home a twin size "big girl" bed for her. I told her she could have any sheets that she wanted, so we went to walmart. I picked out Dora, princess, Tinker Bell, and many more. She said no to them all. I asked her what she wanted then and she said Polka dot sheets. You would know, I can't find them!! So she just has plain white sheets on her bed for now, but she's okay with it. She's done pretty well with her new bed. She has slept in it for 2 nights now. The first night she woke up a couple times and last night she slept all night. I think I was more worried about it. I just knew she was going to fall out. I have to get over it. She has rails on each side of it, so I think I'm worrying a little much!!
