A good day

It was hot this afternoon, so I got Ava's Lil' squirt pool out. She had so much fun in it. I love this picture, she getting a drink from one of the "fountains".

Welcome Summer

This isn't the best picture, but it was the only one I took. We kicked off summer by going to the pool over the weekend. Lori, Katie, and Peyton came over for Memorial weekend, and we decided to take the girls swimming at the city pool. It was of course opening weekend, which means the water was absolutely freezing. Ava had such a good time. She loved the water, freezing and all. We had a little bit of a problem getting the swim suit on. She wouldn't put it on until I got to the pool and then she let Lori put it on her. Only problem was, it was a bikini. She didn't like that so well! Luckily, I brought a one piece also, cause I wasn't sure which one she would wear. Good thinking on my part I guess. She ended up wearing the one piece.
We have been working on potty training this week. She is actually doing better with the pooping than peeing. She went poop in the potty once yesterday and twice today!! I'm hoping to have her potty trained by August. That's the plan!! Hope it works out.

Ava Smacking

This is one of our favorite videos. It is pretty old, from Alaska when Ava was around 8 months old.

So after a year and a half, we finally figured out how to put videos on the blog. This is one that I took the other day. Ava is singing about Baby Jaguar from Go Diego, Go. I'm working on some other ones, so check back later to see them. I'm hoping I can put my favorite video on here. It was while we were still Alaska, Ava is smacking her food. It's really long, so I'll have to edit it a lot before i put it on the blog. Anyway, enjoy the video:)

Monday

On Monday, Grandma Julie and I decided to take Ava to Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead before we left to come home. I am so glad we went. It was a perfect day to go. Ava had so much fun. She is usually afraid of animals, but she must have been feeling brave that day. She loved feeding the goats. She talked to all the animals, like they could talk back to her! We went on a hayride pulled by horses, which Ava loved watching them. She didn't like it too well when we got off and could go look at the horses up close. She didn't want to get too close to them. We saw pigs, and baby cows, chickens, ducks, and lots more. They had a playground there that was so nice. We can't wait to go back.

These swings are all around the farmstead. Every time we passed one, Ava would get up on it and lay down and swing. I think she needs a hammock.

This picture screams Blake McGuire. I think it is the way she is standing!

Chasing the geese

Ava had so much fun chasing after the geese. I had run after her though, because she was headed right for the pond. I'm pretty sure she wouldn't have stopped either.

Happy 2nd Birthday, Ava!!

Sunday was Ava's 2nd birthday. We had a birthday party for her and Peyton at Blake's mom's house. She got a new trike, a Dora doll, a cash register, tons of clothes, Barbie and Ken, and lots more. I think her favorite thing was the nail polish that Aunt Lori got her. She loves to have her toenails painted. She walks around and says, "Pretty toenails."

Saturday

On Saturday, we had a birthday party/Mother's Day party for Ava and my mom. Ava got a Dora ball pit, a picnic table, a Diego beach towel, a Diego Rescue Pack, lots of books and coloring books, and much more.
This is the party hat she wore last year on her birthday. It comes with numbers to the age of 5.

Blowing her candles out.

She did really good blowing her candles out. She blew them out and then picked up the candles and sucked the icing off like an old pro. She then leaned down and stuck her face in the cake to eat the icing! It was too cute!

A big weekend!

We had a wonderful weekend. Yesterday, Ava turned 2!! We went home to see all of our family over the weekend. Ava had all kinds of fun activities to do. I took so many pictures, that if I were to put them all on tonight I would be here all night long. So I'm just going to put a few pictures on each day. That way you can look for some new pictures each day for the next few days. On Friday, Grandma Julie and I took Ava to see Uncle Doug at the fire station. She got to sit in the driver's seat, wear some head phones, and Uncle Doug had a special fireman's hat and sticker for her. She had so much fun. Thank you Doug.
This picture is after we left the fire station. Ava was so good that afternoon, that Grandma Jan bought her an ice cream cone. It was a lovely mess! But it was fun to watch her eat it all by herself.

The first smile since 5 o'clock tonight, scroll down to see why

Ouch!!

Well our day was great until about 5:00 tonight. We were playing outside and Ava wanted to sit on this big box thing in our back yard. I'm not really sure what its purpose is, but I'm know it has one ( electrical box or something, it looks like a big coffin) Anyway, she wanted off, so she tried to slide off it and I guess leaned back just enough and as she was getting off, she scratched her back. Poor thing, I knew as soon and she did it. She just cried and cried. Needless to say, she walked around a little slow tonight and kept saying hurts, boo-boo. To make it worse, the burn is right on the diaper line, so I know that can't feel good. I gave her some Tylenol tonight, I don't know if that will help, but I thought anything I can do to help ease the pain. I felt so bad for her.
