Hawaii is wonderful

I've been in Hawaii about 10 days. It has been wonderful so far. We haven't done a whole lot really, but it is great just to relax. We did go and see the Arizona memorial at Pearl Harbor, that was pretty interesting. We also went to Hanauma Bay, they have a coral reef there where you can snorkel and see the sea life. It was a really beautiful area and it was cool to see all the fish. Tara and I both really liked that. We have spent a lot of time by the beach and the pool. I think that I have burned every square inch of my body at this point. So the last week should be more enjoyable. We have eaten at some really nice restaurants, Tara says I have made her gain weight. All in all Hawaii is a really wonderful place I recommend every one come here if they ever get a chance. I hope to come back soon one day.

Stuck in Kuwait

I got to Kuwait, along with Jason, Jason, and Chris, they are some friends and fellow pilots in my unit, at 2120 on the 6th of August. We go through all the crap briefings they give us, then we have formations throughout the night to get our travel plans. So we were supposed to leave at 0130 on the 8th and get to the states around noon on the 8th. This wasn't too bad in my book, cause Tara was supposed to leave on the 8th and get to Hawaii in the late afternoon on the 8th. I was gonna get there around 9pm. Then we are getting our briefing to leave, and they tell us the other group, going to Atlanta, got our plane cause theirs didn't show up. Needless to say I was pretty pissed. We are staying in tents, but at least they have some AC. I did get to play Mike Tyson's punchout. It was kind of exciting it has probably been over 15 years since I have played it. It was on a laptop on a nintendo format. I enjoyed it, thanks to my good friend Chris things actually came back to me pretty quickly on how to beat the big bullies. I will give it another whirl tonight see how I fair. I will try to let everyone know when I arrive in Hawaii. Hope everyone had a good Labor Day weekend. Talk to you all soon.

Another Month Away

So the month of August has come and gone. I would say highlighted by power outages. That is unfortunate that is the highlight here in Iraq. I guess on other news I did fly over 46 hours this month, by far the most in a calendar month. I have usually averaged around 30. So it is a little bit more than I am used to getting. It makes time go by faster when you fly more, but it gets a little old. I flew a lot of flags this month. There are some in the mail. I will fly more flags when I get back from leave. It is just a few days till I go on leave, I'm very ready to get out of this place. I have had about all I can take of this lovely country, a break will be great. I will try to make a few post when I'm in Hawaii if I'm able. I did have the opportunity to wear a Belton Fire Department patch that Doug(my brother, for readers that don't know) sent me. I wore it on a mission we flew into Baghdad. Talk to you all soon.
