Halloween: part 1

On Saturday, the zoo was hosting Spooktacular, where you could go and trick or treat. The weather was nice enough that Ava and I could wear our matching poodle skirts. I got them off Ebay, and was so excited, until I got them. Both our skirts were a little shorter than I would have liked, but once I got the whole outfit together, I thought we looked pretty cute.

Fall Festival

We went to a Fall festival last weekend while we were home. I knew they were doing pony rides and Ava always talks about riding a horse, so I really wanted to go. She did better than I thought. She had to have Grandma Julie walk beside her and hold her hand, but at least she rode it! They also had a petting zoo that was different. They had the typical goats and sheep, but they also had a baby zebra, camel, baby kangaroo, donkey, and baby buffalo to pet. The zebra was enough for me. I thought that was so neat to be able to get up close to one.
We also went on a train ride, which was fun. Ava really enjoyed it. It was about 20 minutes too long for her though. But overall, she did really good.

Ava and Boots

This is the first picture of Ava holding Boots that I have been able to take. When she lived with us, she would hide all day under my bed so Ava couldn't play with her. As soon as Ava was in bed she would come out and play. So therefore, I took her back to my mom's house. I kind of feel bad now, cause she loved all over Ava last weekend and would let her play with her. I'm thinking Boots misses us.

My little cook!

Ava's new thing is to help me cook supper. She thinks it is so cool to get the chair and stand by me while I'm cooking. Last night she "helped" me cook hamburgers.

As you can see, she ate more than she helped! You may not be able to tell by the picture, but she took a bite out of each tomato. Just one bite, out of each one.

Kate and Ava walking to the hayride

Yesterday we went to a pumpkin patch with some friends. The kids had a great time and us moms were wore out! They had a horse drawn hayride, which was Ava's favorite part.
