Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween to everyone! Hope everyone had a safe and happy day. We sure did (for the most part.)
We started our day off by going to a new playgroup. This was our second time going, and Ava loves it. The Parent as Teachers program offers at playgroup every morning from 9:30 to 11:15 for free. Ava loves playing with all the kids and especially the cool toys. Plus it gives us something to do in the mornings, and that helps with our transition from two naps a day to one nap.
I really wasn't planning on taking Ava trick or treating because she screams every time I try and put a costume on her. But I started to feel bad about it this afternoon, (thanks to my husband, I know he didn't mean to make me feel bad, but I did) so I decided we were going to go and she WAS going to wear a costume.
Well, about five minutes before it was time to get dressed, we were outside playing and Ava took off running and hit the concrete face first. So now she has this huge goose egg on her head and her nose is scratched up too. Now wouldn't you want to put on a pumpkin costume and go trick or treating! She of course screamed bloody murder while I was getting her dressed, so as soon as I had her dressed I picked her up and ran out the door, before she could get it off!! Once we were outside she stopped crying and then saw a boy dressed up as a little superman and started smiling. Ahhh, sigh of relief! The rest of the night went great! I do think she's gonna have one heck of a bruise though.

Is that not the cutest pumpkin face ever!

I'll just eat your gourd, thanks!

BOO!!

Looking pretty for church

Well actually this was taken after church, because before church Ava's face was red and splotchy from crying. She did not want her tights on, and boy was she throwing a fit. She cried for 30 minutes and well you can tell by the picture who won. She is so particular with her clothes. Is this a girl thing or is this with every child?! And the bad thing is, I know it is just going to get worse!!

Looking for the perfect pumpkin

I took Ava to her first pumpkin patch today. We had a great time. We went on a tractor pulled hayride to a corn maze, and when we got to the end of the maze there was a pumpkin patch. So Ava got to pick out her very own pumpkin (with a little help of course)

Art time

I bought Ava her first set of markers and big coloring book. She loves the markers, but of course doesn't know how to work them. They are made for little kids like her, but I personally think regular markers would be easier to use.
We got home the other day, after spending time with families back home for 3 weeks. We are glad to be home and back to a regular routine.
Since we've been home, Ava has learned how to open doors. I was reading through the mail when we got home and she walked over to the door going into the garage, and just opened it like it was nothing. So I guess I'll have to make sure the doors are locked for now on.
I bought Ava a little potty chair so she could start getting use to it. She tinkled in it the first time she sat on it!! Well, maybe I should say, she stood up and started peeing on the floor and I sat her back on the seat and she finished going in the potty. She hasn't gone in it since, but that's ok!
Yesterday, I started giving Ava one nap a day instead of two. It's only the second day, but so far it's going good. Although, she almost fell asleep while she was eating lunch today!
