Ava's potato head

Here is a picture of Ava's first Mr. Potato Head. So what if he's missing an ear and has a nose where the arm goes!! I thought it was pretty cute, and not bad for her first time putting one together with no one telling her where to put everything.
She is feeling much better. She still has a cold, but she's running around and playing now.

Sick again

Ava just got over having a cold for 2 weeks and then the flu for 4 days. We were better for about a week, and now she is sick again. I took her to the ER on Friday morning, after not sleeping at all the night before, having a cough and a fever. She has a horrible cold again plus strep throat. She's been on antibiotics for 3 days now and is feeling much better. Her cold is still yucky, but her throat seems to be much better. I will be so glad when this sick season is over. It seems like we can't even leave the house without catching something.
Well, Grandma Julie couldn't stand to be away from her, so she came over yesterday to nurse Ava back to health! I think it has helped too. I know Ava enjoys seeing someone else here besides me, and I enjoy it, cause I get a little break.
We had chicken and noodles for supper tonight. Julie was teaching me how to make the homemade noodles, and Ava wanted in on the action. So we got her little junior bake set out and she rolled out some of her own dough. It was so cute to watch.

Random Pictures

I took quite a few pictures of Ava last week, so I thought I would share them. The first two pictures we are playing dress up. Ava doesn't really pay much attention to her dress up clothes, but on that day she brought me that dress and had to have it on. And of course we had to have the matching shoes to go with it!
I made tacos the other night, and it was so cute watching Ava eat them. I had to take a picture of it.
It's hard to keep Ava entertained with it being so cold out. We go to play group a lot, we color, and play dolls, but we still get bored. I bought her some Play-doh the other day, and she loves it. She sat there the first day and played with it for an hour!

Ava went to her first play date today. We go to play group every week, but we've never gone to anyone's house for a play date. Today, we went to Kate's house. We met Kate and play group. She is about 9 months older than Ava. They had a great time playing together. There were only a couple of times when we didn't want to share. After we played we went out to eat, which doesn't happen too often, and Ava reminded me why it doesn't happen often! Stacy and Kate went with us also. I thought Ava would watch Kate and see how she sat quietly, but not so much! After lunch we came home and had a nap, then this afternoon we had heart cupcakes and hot chocolate! Yum!

Well this seems to be Ava's typical facial expression for the last few weeks. I think the terrible twos are coming early! She has been very sassy and grumpy lately. We just got over being sick for 2 weeks, so I can understand not being happy then, but we are all better now, so it's time to act better!!! She doesn't want to go to sleep, and she's been waking up multiple times during the night to throw a fit. She finally falls asleep and then a few hours later she wakes up and remembers she was having a fit, so she feels the need to finish it I guess! Tonight when I tried to take something from her, she jerked back and said, "No, it's mine." Very nice!! Let the fun times begin!:)

Ava grabbed the bag of cheerios this morning to get some, but turned it upside down and spilled the whole bag. She had a good time helping me sweep up the mess.
