Ava's Home

Well the baby got to come home with us on Tuesday the 23rd. We were very excited and a little nervous, but everything seems to be going real well.

Ava's first bath

Ava turned a week old on Thursday so she got her first sponge bath. She really didn't mind the bath at all, she like getting her head washed. Her is a picture of Tara washing her hair.

We just thought this was kind of cute and funny, she always has her hands around her face. This time just happened to be a peace sign.

Here is a picture to show how small Ava is. Don't be alarmed by it she'll get much bigger, and the tube is just a feeding tube to help her get food easier, cause she uses a lot of energy to feed. This helps her gain weight without using energy. The tube will come out soon.

Sorry I haven't posted in a while

Well it has been a while since I have put anything on here. Up till the last couple of weeks we didn't do a whole lot. I am sure many know already, but we had our baby girl at 12:20 a.m. on Thursday May 11th. Her name is Ava Raegan McGuire. She came to us very early, not quite 35 weeks. Some may not know, but on April 24 we had to be flown down to Anchorage cause Tara was having some pre-term labor issues. She was in the hospital for about 6 days then we got to stay at an outpatient facility. We came home on May 8th, and Tara went in to labor on the 10th. It all happened very fast, but everything seems to be just fine. Tara did very well, and is feeling great. The baby is really small, 4lbs. 12 oz., but the doctors say she looks great. She will have to be in the hospital for a while till she is feeding a little better. I will try to keep everyone posted as much as possible, and I'll try to do better with posting.
